Summer Fun & More to Come!!

As another season of summer reading fun draws to a close, we know that more children than ever before participated in the Summer Reading Program at the Cedar Lake Branch. Congratulations to all the kids who read at least one book this summer and to all the parents who brought their children to the library and who read to them.
And there's still fun to come in August:
*Laugh Out Loud @ Your Library--Mon. Aug. 2, 6:30
The hilariously funny comedy troupe, Tom Foolery, will perform. They've perfomed at the library before, to rave reviews! LOL @ the library!
*Enviromobile Presents: Oobleck!--Thurs., Aug. 12, 2pm
Children will investigate, experiment with, and analyze a mysterious green substance while they learn about household hazardous waste in our environment. Preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult.
Preschool Storyhour--Tues. Aug. 17, 10:30 OR 1pm
Preschoolers, ages 4-5, and independent 3-year-olds, will enjoy stories, a craft, a film & more!

*Basic computer classes begin Mon. Aug. 23. Pick up a schedule at the library or check online at http://www.lcpl.org/. Click on 'Programs' and then search for computer classes at the Cedar Lake Branch. Or call the library at 374-7121. Space is limited, so be sure to register for the classes you want to take.
*Balloon Blast, teens 11 & older--Thurs. Aug. 19, 4pm
Make a ball, creatures, and more from balloons. Learn basic balloon twisting to create even more. Play games with balloons, including water balloons.
*Mother Goose on the Loose--Fri. Aug. 20, 10:30
Babies and toddlers, along with a caregiver, will participate in stories, nursery rhymes, finger plays and music activities.
*GameFest--teens 11 & older--Wed. Aug. 25, 3pm
Play a variety of PlayStation & Wii games. Those who wish maby compete in tournaments for prizes. Food & pop will be provided.
*Toddler Time--Thurs. Aug. 26, 10:30
Toddlers, ages 2-3, & a caregiver, will partipate in stories, music activities, rhymes, crafts, & more!
*Colorama: A T-Shirt Event!--Thurs. Aug. 26, 4:30
Enjoy stories & activities about colors. Bring a white t-shirt to tie dye with sharpie markers, or tie dye with materials the libraqry will provide.
*Dinosaur Days Family Fun--Mon. Aug. 30, 6:30
All ages will travel back in time with stories of dinosaurs, activities with fossils, a dinosaur egg hunt, & more!
